How do top students study?
My husband was only an average student in school
So, how did he study to to be able to clear some of the toughest exams in the country?
He is very disciplined. We have been married for a little less than a year and in those 300 days, he woke up at the same time every day, ate at the same time, went to play badminton everyday. He showered twice a day even in winters. Washed his own clothes and kept everything in place without fail each and every single day (I am just opposite)
I have never seen him snoozing alarm even if he has to go for inspection early morning or late at night. Never heard him saying “I am tired”.
He loves studying. He studies still. He teaches me maths because he loves it and he wanted to change my view that maths suck(I have actually started to like maths). He is not one of those who was pushed into engineering. He did it because he loves it.
So, interest and discipline are the most important qualities of a top student.
Next, he taught me the best way to memorise anything. Most of the top students study like this. I wish I knew this before, I would have been an officer myself. Well it is never too late. Anyway, what he did was

He skimmed through the entire book in 1–2 days and made a mind map of what he would be studying.
He then divided all the topics as per his schedule so that he could complete it within the stipulated time frx. He set daily, weekly, monthly, yearly goal. The happiness of conquering a goal kept him motivated.
After completing a topic, he scribbled down whatever he remembered or acted like he is explaining it to someone else. This made him realise the grey areas in his knowledge.
He kept first hour of his new day for revising what he studied a day before. So, on day 2 he would quickly revise what he studied on day 1, on day 3, he would revise what he studied on day 1 and day 2, on the last day of the week he would revise the entire week's study.
On the last day of the week, he solved questions related to the topics he completed in that week. He would do the same at the end of every month.
He solved as many questions as he can and wrote as many tests as he can.
So, revise, revise, revise, write, write, write is his mantra.
His hard work, smartness and discipline paid off beautifully.
I have started to study in the same way and I am shocked at how quickly and easily I am able to learn.

The hardest skill for an entrepreneur to learn is to be an effective leader. Most entrepreneurs aren't naturally good leaders and the struggle to learn how to lead effectively. The second hardest skill to learn is how to make your business stand out from its competitors and appeal to the widest variety of customers. This is very important. Most new businesses fail because they can't find enough customers. The third hardest skill to learn is how to effectively network with other people. Networking is the most effective way to gain new business. The fourth hardest skill is to develop a strong work ethic. Most entrepreneurs only work at their business part-time. This is a huge mistake. Successful entrepreneurs work on their business full-time until it starts to make a profit.
If this question is posed to 100 people you will get 1000 answers which would also include answers from people who only read books but never practiced. This kind of people are plenty at least in India where there is nothing like accountability for any speech, comment and action. Further there is nothing like top 10 skills or bottom 10 skills. In today’s TOI issue ( 28.3.21) on ‘’ women entrepreneurs-share success mantras ‘’successful entrepreneurs have shared their views on how they become successful in their venture. The fun is that except a few, the views are varied and wide. Hence my observation in the first line.
LEGAL AWARENESS; What ever we do and communicate, should be legally valid. The basic is ‘’ Indian contract act ‘’ which lays foundation for inter personal relationship particularly in business environment. Knowledge is also required in dealing in assets, property, goods, banking transactions etc
FINANCE AND ECONOMY; Entrepreneur should know from where money comes and to where it goes. In business monitoring of bottom line is important. In many cases where entrepreneur neglected this area but depended on paid finance people, either the entrepreneur was cheated or the unit ran into loss. Besides finance, a good knowledge of the macro economy of the country, govt.policy etc is required.
HUMAN RELATIONS; This is required for smooth handling of people connected to the unit like the working team, creditors including Bank personnel, debtors, suppliers, buyers, home front, police, maintenance people etc. This is an art of getting things done by people.
HARD WORK; There is no substitute for hard work. Any of the deficiencies in the above aspects can be rectified through proper intervention by hard work.
Where ever the services of experts/consultants are required the same can be obtained by payment. Awareness in the above area will enable the entrepreneur not only to understand the specialised matter but also to keep the specialist under check.
Business management education institutes deal mainly on the above basic subjects only. Acquiring of a qualification in these institutes will certainly enhance atleast the theoretical knowledge in management principles which can actually be practiced for running a business unit.
Please note learning is a continuous process in life, All the best.

Does getting an MBA make someone a better entrepreneur?
I don't have an MBA (I have an MS in Computer Science), so I can't speak from direct experience. As CEO, I've managed dozens of MBAs in my career, so this answer is based on that experience. An MBA provides a fair amount of knowledge about historical business case studies, finance, and other topics -- all of which can be useful. It is in no way a substitute for real management experience and that's where it can be harmful -- when the holder of the MBA thinks they know how to manage, because they have an MBA. If you think of management as a systems problem where your task is to design and maintain a system where it's a) easy to get meaningful work done and b) is fun to work in and c) you will be recognized for your good work, then the relevant experiences for management are to a) work in a company and find out why it's hard to get things done or b) run a company and carefully observe how you are screwing it up. If you think that you know what you are doing without these experiences, you are likely delusional and would have been better off just drinking beer rather than getting an MBA and drinking beer.
Entrepreneurs always say “learn the right skill”. So, what is the right skill?
There's no one skill that can make you a success in this undertaking.
Below are the top skills in my experience so far:
The ability to sell.
Ability to hire and retain good people.
Ability to make a plan and stick to it.
Ability to find a winning strategy to beat your competition.
Ability to convert an idea and turn it to real cash.
I would never underestimate even one of the above when it comes to running my business.
We always face a situation where we don't know where to start from:
To run the business you need cash.
To get cash you need to sell.
To sell, you need good people.
To hire good people, you need cash again.
I just kept selling and that took care of my people and cash needs. When cash goes down, I go back and start selling more.
What are the most important soft skills to have?
The ability to understand people's motivations.
If you don't understand people, they become arbitrary. You'll live in a world where people screw you over for no reason, and you'll waste a lot of energy being angry and depressed. You might also think people's actions have something to do with you when they don't. This will mess with your self-image and hinder your interactions with other people.
You'll have a lot of trouble resolving conflicts because good conflict resolution requires both parties to see the other person's side. This will cause you to lose friends and put you at a disadvantage in your career. It also makes people hate you.
What is the best habit for success?
Trust me this will change your life as it did mine :)
Every Morning, take a paper and write down as two sections personal and professional , now under personal section write down 5 things you wanna do that day to improve yourself and in professional section write down 5 things which you will do to get closer to your goals and strike them off once they are done.
This works as we always tend to achieve short term goals without deviating.
So coming to the 5 things it differs from person to person, they depend upon their goals.
For example,
Recently I was trying to get healthy
So 5 things in my personal section were :
Drink 3 litres of water
Walk for an hour
Eat healthy throughout the day
Start and end day with green tea
Do strengthening exercises
In the same way write down 5 things in the professional section which you wanna master in your professional life.
So in this way create 5 small goals to achieve every day which will make you to achieve your big goal.
DREAM BIG BUT START SMALL
Don't stop
Act now .
Thank you all :)
Glad that you people liked it :D
